Lessons Not Mistakes!

April 27, 2007

After a long talk with my mentor, I decided to be more pro-active and do whatever it takes to start generating sales for my ebook. I  created a web page with a special offer for my opt in list and friends on myspace and uploaded it to my hosting site. I clicked the link and it did not work. I went into my back office and saw I created a second public html file. I then checked and r-checked to make sure that I was deleting the incorrect file. I hit the delete button and suddenly felt a sick feeling come over me. I knew immediately I had deleted everything.

Here I am the one who talks empowerment and boy did I start to beat myself up over this mistake or error.  I emailed my mentor and his reply lightened me up. I knew then why I had him and his partner as my mentors.  Earlier today they coached me and I was so excited to move forward. They identified certain strengths along with some things I need to improve. Fortunately all was not lost.

My lesson in all of this. I knew I did something and I immediately contacted the person to let them know.  I was empowered by their response and I made a list of things I learned from this incident.  Right after the email response from my mentor, I began to change my self talk. I accepted this as a learning experience rather than a mistake.  For many of you, this may sound like a logical scenario. Let me tell you, there are people out there who would have gone ballistic over this.  Everyone makes mistakes, that is why they put erasers on pencils. It is only a lesson and not the end of the world.  I wish you an empowered day. Dr. Mike

Self-Education

March 28, 2007

An outstanding book I am reading is Twelve Pillars by Jim Rohn and Chris Widener.

It states in Chapter 7 – “Formal education will make you a living.

Self-education will make you a fortune.”

I  suggest you get a copy of this book if you have not read it.  www.jimrohn.com

In my upcoming ebook  “Don’t Allow School To Interfere With Your Education.”  I give several examples of how to empwer yourself with self-empowered education.  We did  learn certain things in school, however what makes one successful involves a great deal more than a degree.  You can learn more about some essentials for self-empowered education by going to  www.empowerednow.com/ns-success.html

Until next time!  ( remember time is a gift we cannot get back)

Spring Into Empowerment

March 22, 2007

Even though there is snow on the ground here in NY, Spring is coming our way. Start to set your 90 day goals for the next 3 months. April will be here soon.  It is a time when we begin to wear less clothing, we may have a goal to drop some pounds. I dislike saying lose weight because no one wants to lose anything. We don’t like to lose our keys, wallets, cell phones, money, etc so the word lose does not resonant very well with  our subconscious mind.  Tony Robbins uses the term gain thinness. We have to be careful with our words.  Jeffrey Gitomer states ” It’s your thoughts behind the words you speak that create your attitude.”  Make it a point over the next 3 months to monitor your thoughts, words, actions, and energy level.  Until next time.  Have an Empowered Day!

I hope the title got your attention. Welcome to my EmpoweredNow Blog. I am Dr. Mike Shapiro aka Empowerment Aficionado. So many people I come in contact with all have a passion to Be, Do and Have More. We are all busy and my good friend the late Dr. Bernard Jensen would always tell me. “Ant’s are busy, but never too busy to go to a picnic.”

Now you may laugh and you should become humor is an important part of empowerment, however the fact that we must take time for ourself and our loved ones is what that message is all about.  This blog will become a place where you can come a for a moment or two and learn different tips on self empowerment. Make it your empowerment picnic.  This is just the beggining. I will post more real soon. Have an Empowered Day.   Dr. Mike
